Senior Infrastructure Specialist (12-Month Contract) South West Sydney (Hybrid Working) 12-Month Contract We’re partnering with a progressive and fast-growing public sector organisation seeking a Senior Infrastructure Specialist to join their Digital, Technology & Innovation team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering secure, scalable, and modern infrastructure services that directly support a growing community. The Opportunity Reporting to the Team Leader – IT Infrastructure & Operations, you will: Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise infrastructure Provide senior-level support across virtual servers, networking, and cloud environments Drive security uplift, incident response, and vulnerability remediation Support and enhance Microsoft 365 and Azure environments Contribute to infrastructure modernisation and continuous improvement initiatives Key Responsibilities Design and deploy infrastructure across virtualised and cloud platforms Manage enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure (IaaS, data services, resources) Maintain and enhance Active Directory and core networking services Lead security response activities and implement remediation strategies Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes Ensure alignment with ITIL-based service management practices Essential Experience Strong background in enterprise infrastructure support and engineering Expertise in: Virtualisation (VMware / Hyper-V) Microsoft 365 & Azure Active Directory & endpoint security tools Proven experience handling security incidents and vulnerabilities Deep knowledge of storage, backup, and recovery systems Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities Desirable Skills Experience in government or regulated environments Exposure to automation/IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.) Understanding of Zero Trust architecture Familiarity with frameworks such as: ISO 27001 NIST CSF Essential Eight If this sounds like you, and you'd like to know more, please click apply and Lewis will be in touch.
