Job Description Bookkeeper | Assistant Accounts $85,000 - $95,000 Super Hybrid after 6 months | 3 days in office & 2 from home A well-established organised in Perth’s CBD are looking to recruit a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper/Assistant Accountant to support their Financial Controller in managing accurate, compliant, and timely financial records. You will be involved across core accounting functions including month-end, reconciliations, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, and audit support, within a collaborative and values-driven organisation. Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Month-End Support Assist with preparation and analysis of month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and reclassifications Support month-end close and reporting activities Complete weekly and monthly bank reconciliations Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner Payroll (Fortnightly) End-to-end payroll processing Validate timesheets, overtime, allowances, and leave entries Prepare payroll reconciliations and maintain employee records Ensure compliance with awards, superannuation, and taxation requirements Provide payroll analysis and reporting Support employee payroll queries Assist with year-end payroll processes including STP finalisation and PAYG summaries Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Assist with preparation and issuing of sales invoices Allocate customer payments and maintain debtor records Monitor overdue accounts and support credit control activities Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve billing queries Review weekly creditor payment files for accuracy Process supplier invoices accurately and on time Perform three-way matching (PO, receipt, invoice) where applicable Prepare weekly creditor payment runs Ensure compliance with company policies and delegated authorities Skills & Experience Essential 3–5 years’ commercial experience in a transactional accounting role Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation, conditional formatting) High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Working rights in Australia and based in Perth Interested?
