About the Role: As part of our continued growth and recent project awards, NRW Civil & Mining are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our high-performing civil infrastructure team based in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary design activities and ensuring design delivery aligns with project requirements, statutory standards, and client expectations. Working closely with project managers, engineering teams, and external consultants, you will play a critical role in supporting the design development and delivery phases across a range of civil infrastructure projects including road upgrades, bridges, bulk earthworks, drainage, utilities, rail interfaces, and urban infrastructure works. To be considered as a Design Manager; you must possess the following as a minimum: Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline Demonstrated experience coordinating design across civil infrastructure projects in Western Australia Strong working knowledge of Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) specifications, road design standards, and drainage requirements Experience working within D&C or alliance contract environments Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, IFC documentation, and technical specifications Familiarity with design software such as 12d, Civil 3D, AutoCAD and/or BIM coordination platforms Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills High attention to detail with strong programme and coordination capability As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for but not limited to: Coordinating and managing external design consultants across civil, structural, drainage, pavement, services and geotechnical disciplines Ensuring design documentation complies with Main Roads Western Australia standards, Austroads guidelines and relevant Australian Standards Managing design deliverables in accordance with D&C or EPC contract requirements Facilitating design coordination meetings, constructability reviews and risk workshops Identifying and managing design risks, non-conformances and technical queries (RFIs) Overseeing design change management and maintaining alignment with project scope, budget and schedule Liaising with key stakeholders including local councils, Public Transport Authority and utility providers such as Western Power and Water Corporation Supporting approval processes, technical submissions and authority clearances Ensuring Safety in Design (SiD) obligations are met and documented Providing technical support to project and site teams to resolve design-related issues during construction Performing any additional tasks as directed which are within your skill, qualification and competence level What we Offer: Excellent rates, conditions and benefits NRW’s commitment to training and development “A safe day.
