Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, we are seeking a Payroll Officer who thrives on accuracy and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Process end-to-end weekly payroll for 400 employees across multiple venues Ensure payroll is processed accurately and in line with relevant the Award, Fair Work legislation, and company policies Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new starters, terminations, and changes to employment conditions Submit and reconcile STP reports after each payroll Manage workers compensation payments ensuring PIAWE payments are correct to employees. Prepare leave reconciliation as required Interpret the award, penalty rates, and overtime calculations Reconcile payroll reports and investigate discrepancies Ensure employee’s superannuation is processed in accordance with legislation Assist with payroll compliance activities, audits, and reporting requirements Analyse payroll data and prepare monthly reports. Work closely with HR and operational managers to resolve payroll queries About You You will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience running end to end payroll, ideally within hospitality, retail, or another high-volume workforce environment. You will bring: Previous payroll experience, ideally in hospitality or another high-volume workforce environment Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and award interpretation Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a weekly payroll cycle Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage confidential information Dayforce experience desirable, but not essential.
