This is a pivotal role providing leadership, guidance and strategic direction to drive best‑practice health, safety, environment and quality outcomes. About The Position On Offer It is Site based DIDO/FIFO role, and you should be based in QLD. As the HSE Manager, you will be a trusted advisor to the Project Manager and a key leader across the project environment. Main Responsibilities Include Lead the implementation and continual improvement of UGL’s HSE management systems Drive a strong safety culture across project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders Provide expert guidance on legislation, standards, risk, and compliance Oversee incident investigations, audits, HSSE documentation and reporting Develop HSSE improvement plans, KPIs and business unit targets Support return‑to‑work processes and injury management Engage with clients, regulators and third‑party bodies to ensure compliance and best practice Lead and mentor site‑based HSE teams, fostering capability and performance The Successful Candidate Will Require Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or similar 10 years’ experience in HSEQ across construction, infrastructure or heavy industry Strong knowledge of WHS, environmental and workers compensation legislation Demonstrated experience implementing safety management systems Knowledge of AS/NZS 4801, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 31000 Incident investigation and internal/external auditor training Cert IV in Training & Assessment (preferred) Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) Please note that relevant screening checks will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
