Our restaurant focuses on high-quality ingredients, authentic flavours and excellent customer service. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. Position Overview As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Japanese dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and kitchen operations. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and consistent food quality. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of Japanese dishes in accordance with restaurant recipes and standards Assist with menu preparation and development of Japanese cuisine dishes Ensure food preparation and cooking processes meet quality and presentation standards Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulationsSupervise and assist in training junior kitchen staff Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation Ensure proper food storage and handling procedures are followed Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment to meet service demands Skills and Experience Proven experience working as a Chef in a commercial kitchen Experience preparing Japanese cuisine highly regarded Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and kitchen operations Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy restaurant environment Strong teamwork and communication skills High attention to detail and commitment to quality food preparation Qualifications Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management or equivalent qualification Minimum 2 years relevant work experience as a Chef What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications Opportunities for career development within a growing restaurant group Staff meals and discounts Supportive and professional team environment
