The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is an independent Commonwealth statutory authority responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, radiocommunications, telecommunications and some online content. Who we are The Corporate and Research Division 's primary role is to enable and support the Agency to achieve its strategic priorities, performance targets and operational outcomes through the delivery of high quality, contemporary and innovative corporate services, best practice research and analysis, and targeted capability development. The Digital and Technology Service (DTS) Branch provides digital and technology services to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) and its stakeholders. The Branch works in a business partnership model with all ACMA divisions to enable regulation of communications and media to maximise the economic and social benefits for Australia. DTS has four key objectives: Manage Information and Cyber Security Risks, to protect, manage, detect, respond, secure information systems and platforms for the ACMA. Deliver Digital and Data Services, to provide the ACMA with end-to-end digital services and inform decision making through actionable insights resulting from the analysis of ACMA's data assets. Enable greater staff productivity through connection, collaboration, and efficiency. Enhance reliability and availability by establishing contemporary technology platforms that delivers modern business capabilities. The ICT Platform Services and Support Section is charged with the development, implementation, and maintenance of ACMA's hybrid cloud infrastructure in accordance with agreed security standards and operating processes. The section's responsibilities include: managing the ACMA's ICT hybrid cloud infrastructure, application platforms and services including maintenance, increasing availability, improving reliability, and ensuing security standards are upheld continuing to mature existing support services and design support services for new ICT capabilities providing broad support across the branch by taking a lead role in the upskilling and education of staff by on-the-job experience and knowledge capture and sharing supporting the Chief Information and Digital Officer in achieving quality outcomes efficiently and in accordance with best practice public sector ICT and digital service delivery, working across the branch. About the role The Wintel System Engineer role is a high performing engineering role within the ICT Platform Services and Support Section. You will work predominately focusing on developing and maintaining the ACMA's on-premises infrastructure and applications. You will have a strong background in several technologies and can demonstrate an aptitude to develop hybrid cloud infrastructure-based skills into the future. The key duties of the position include As a Wintel System Engineer , you will be expected to: Take a lead role in the development and the maintenance of the ACMA's on-premises infrastructure and applications including ensuring support standards are met. Create and maintain SOP documents for the on-premiss infrastructure and application environments. Tune monitoring and alerting services within the on-premises infrastructure and applications ecosystem. Support hybrid cloud adoption, delivering and integrating Microsoft solutions within a hybrid cloud infrastructure-based environment. Provide technical guidance and expertise during new technologies initiatives. Provide support alongside other team members for ACMA's ICT platform services. You will be a strong advocate of Security-first solutions and best working practices within the ICT environment. The Wintel System Engineer will develop, manage, and maintain a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships and networks. This role will suite an individual who has a strong infrastructure background and has a willingness to develop core skills within the Microsoft Azure Cloud ecosystem.
