THE OPPORTUNITY An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Business Advisory Manager or Senior Manager to join a high-performing advisory team based in Brisbane’s CBD. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of valued clients, delivering high-quality financial and tax advisory services while providing strategic insights beyond traditional compliance work. You will work closely with business owners and senior stakeholders, helping them navigate financial complexity and identify opportunities for growth and improvement. You will also play a key leadership role within the team, mentoring junior staff, overseeing workflow and contributing to the ongoing growth and development of the firm’s advisory practice. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage a portfolio of business advisory and taxation clients across a range of industries Deliver high-quality financial reporting, tax compliance and advisory services Provide commercial insights and strategic guidance to privately owned businesses Oversee complex engagements and ensure work is delivered to a high technical standard Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders Lead, mentor and develop a team of accountants within the advisory division Review work prepared by junior staff and provide technical guidance and support Manage workflow, deadlines and client expectations across multiple engagements Contribute to practice development initiatives and the growth of the advisory service line EXPERIENCE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Business with an accounting major CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent) Proven Australian experience in a Tax and Business Services or Business Advisory environment Demonstrated experience in a management or senior supervisory role within professional services Strong technical expertise across financial reporting, taxation and advisory engagements Excellent leadership capabilities with experience mentoring and developing teams Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly to clients Experience managing multiple engagements while maintaining high levels of accuracy and efficiency Proficiency with common accounting and practice management systems THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE Flexible and hybrid working arrangements Additional leave initiatives including an extra annual wellbeing day Generous support for professional development, qualifications and industry memberships Structured leadership development and career progression pathways Employee and client referral incentives A collaborative culture that recognises and celebrates team achievements Regular social, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives that bring teams together Modern CBD office environment designed to support collaboration and productivity Opportunity to build a long-term career within a respected and growing professional services firm.
