Our Mount Magnet Mining (MMG) operations include multiple open pit, underground, and satellite sites with a projected 17-year mine life. The Cue open pit projects are a series of high-grade open pits producing important mill feed for the Mount Magnet processing hub. The Role As an Open Pit Mining Engineer, you will play a key role in planning, designing and monitoring open pit operations to ensure safe, efficient and compliant production. You’ll deliver high‑quality drill and blast and pit designs, maintain accurate operational data, support statutory reporting, and work closely with operational teams to optimise performance and maximise value from the orebody. Key responsibilities include: Deliver high‑quality drill, blast and open pit designs that maximise value from the orebody. Contribute to medium‑term, annual and life‑of‑mine planning to support long‑range operational strategy. Monitor and report production activities to ensure full compliance with statutory, regulatory and licence obligations. Ensure open pit personnel, contractors and visitors understand and meet their responsibilities. Ensure environmental, safety and operational responsibilities are understood and followed by all personnel and contractors. Support budgeting, reporting and performance tracking, delivering accurate data and timely submissions. Maintain secure, up‑to‑date open pit data across databases, spreadsheets and network systems. Assist with contractor management, team capability development and continuous improvement initiatives. Proactively manage hazards, address unsafe behaviours and promote a strong safety culture. Communicate clearly and consistently to support alignment across teams and departments. About You You’re a technically capable and detail‑driven Mining Engineer who thrives in a dynamic open pit environment. You bring a solid foundation in mine planning, scheduling and design, supported by strong analytical skills and a commitment to safe, compliant and efficient operations. With a collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills, you effectively contribute to achieving production targets and continuous improvement.
