About the Role Contract Resources is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Business Development Manager to join our commercial team. This senior role is critical to delivering sustainable business growth through strategic sales execution, strong stakeholder engagement, and disciplined pipeline management across commercial and industrial markets. Reporting to senior leadership, this position plays a key role in identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities through formal tenders, bids, and negotiated contracts. The role requires a commercially astute professional with a proven track record in complex B2B environments, ideally within waste, transport, or allied industries. This role is hands-on and varied, with a focus on supporting business development activities, maintaining governance standards, and collaborating with internal operational and HSEQ teams to ensure effective delivery outcomes. Duties will include but not be limited to Developing and executing business development strategies aligned with organisational objectives Building, qualifying, and managing a sales pipeline in line with governance standards Securing new business through formal tenders, bids, and commercial negotiations Maintaining industry and sector business plans in line with market conditions Collaborating with internal Business Units to pursue integrated opportunities Managing prospect and customer relationships throughout the life of projects and contracts Ensuring opportunities are commercially viable and executable prior to submission Supporting structured handover of awarded work to Operations to ensure delivery readiness Providing regular reporting on sales activity and performance Maintaining high standards of data quality and reporting within CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) Ensuring customer contracts and commercial documentation are accurately maintained Ensuring compliance with delegated levels of authority and internal governance requirements Supporting post-award reviews and continuous improvement initiatives Demonstrating professional conduct and representing the company to a high standard Engaging Operations and HSEQ teams to ensure alignment with operational and safety requirements Requirements & Experience Needed Demonstrable experience (5 years) in a senior B2B business development role within commercial or industrial environments Proven track record in securing business through formal tenders and bids Strong experience converting complex and/or technical opportunities into profitable outcomes Experience within large, networked businesses in waste, transport, or allied industries (highly regarded) Advanced commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate terms and drive positive billed revenue Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills at multiple stakeholder levels Ability to manage time, priorities, and multiple internal and external stakeholders effectively Intermediate to advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms (preferred) Tertiary qualifications in Business or a related discipline (preferred) Current Australian driver’s licence Full Australian work rights How to apply If you are seeking a challenging and rewarding role with a dynamic, growing organisation, please select the ‘Apply Now’ button to submit your application.
