This role is suited to a strong leader with a background in overhead and underground distribution, high-voltage networks, and utility construction who thrives in fast-paced, safety-critical environments. Based in Belmont (Monday-Friday), this position is structured as approximately 1/3 site-based and 2/3 Perth-based, providing a balance between field leadership and strategic project management. The Role As the Project Manager you will hold full accountability for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of overhead and underground powerline works. You will lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to client specifications. Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor project engineers, supervisors, and construction crews across electrical and powerline projects Manage the delivery of HV/LV overhead and underground distribution works Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to meet program milestones Oversee switching, isolation, commissioning, and network integration activities Ensure compliance with design drawings, technical standards, and client requirements Drive project performance across cost control, forecasting, scheduling, quality, and risk management Develop and maintain detailed project programs, procurement plans, and resource schedules Maintain strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and senior management Ensure strict adherence to OH&S legislation, environmental obligations, and company safety standards Skills & Experience Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Project Management role within electrical or powerline construction Demonstrated experience delivering overhead and underground projects Proven experience managing electrical construction crews in live network environments Strong understanding of cost management, contract administration, and project reporting Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple concurrent work fronts Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and project management systems Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and incident prevention Mandatory Requirements DMIRS S26 WA Electrical Workers Licence Previous experience working directly with tier 1 clients and or EPCM projects Rio Tinto inducted Valid C-Class Driver's Licence Willingness to travel to site as required Full Australian work rights What Genus Offer Opportunity to deliver essential electrical and powerline infrastructure projects Strong values-driven culture backed by experienced leadership Career progression within a growing national infrastructure business Financial and lifestyle benefits including Novated Leasing, Salary Sacrifice, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) If you are a motivated electrical Project Manager ready to lead high-performing teams and deliver critical powerline infrastructure, we encourage you to apply.
