Key Responsibilities & Duties HR Services: Provide accurate, timely and specialist advice to employees and leaders on all HR matters, including policy interpretation, employment conditions, and HR best practice. Establish coaching-based relationships with leaders to support them in managing performance, conduct, development, and engagement across their teams. Provide expert advice and guidance in the interpretation and application of Enterprise Agreements (EA), employment law, and organizational policy. Advise on and support workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and workforce development initiatives. Collaborate on the implementation and continuous improvement of HR systems, policies, and procedures. Employee & Industrial Relations: Act as a key point of contact for advice and support on employee and industrial relations matters. Coach and support leaders in managing underperformance, misconduct, grievances, and conflict resolution. Lead or contribute to workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, and dispute resolution activities. Liaise with unions, employees, and leadership to resolve matters collaboratively and in alignment with EA obligations and organizational values. Provide timely, practical and legally sound guidance on: Conditions of employment and contracts Performance management and development Disciplinary processes and investigations Enterprise Agreement interpretation, claims and disputes Qualifications and Experience: Degree qualification in a relevant HR discipline along with some relevant experience in HR or lesser qualification with substantial experience in a similar role. Experience gained in a generalist HR role within a diverse organizational environment. Experience in employee relations and industrial relations matters Key Selection Criteria Degree qualification in a relevant HR discipline along with some relevant experience in HR or lesser qualification with substantial experience in similar role. Demonstrated knowledge and application of contemporary HR Management principles, practices and current trends. Demonstrated experience providing advice and support in employee relations and industrial relations including; performance management, disciplinary matters and investigations, EA claims and disputes. Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize work, both on an individual and team basis, within set timelines and available resources. Demonstrated skills in the review and implementation of policies in the HR and/or employee relations field. Other Duties. Responsibilities and duties included in this position description are subject to the multi-skilling provisions of the Moonee Valley City Council current Enterprise Agreement and or any supplementary agreements and where applicable the appropriate award. Open to part‑time (3–4 days per week), Hybrid expectation and Full‑time > 3 days in the office.
