Senior Privacy Officers (APS6) We are recruiting two Senior Privacy Officers at the APS6 equivalent level to support a Commonwealth Government privacy function through full-time secondments. These will be offered for an initial 3-month term, with prospects of extension. These are non-legal roles suited to experienced privacy professionals who enjoy working in an in-house government environment, advising on privacy compliance, managing privacy incidents and supporting best-practice information handling across a large organisation. This role is open to candidates located in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with flexible arrangements considered on a case-by-case basis. Please note: only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance can be considered for these roles. Duties: Provide privacy and information-handling advice within a Commonwealth environment Support the management and resolution of privacy incidents, including escalations Prepare complex correspondence, reports and briefings for senior review Contribute to responses for regulators, external review bodies and Ministers Support business areas to meet privacy compliance obligations Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships Contribute to improvements in privacy processes and best practice Maintain accurate records in line with information management requirements Requisite skills and experience: Experience in privacy, information governance, compliance or a similar regulatory role Working knowledge of privacy legislation, secrecy provisions and information-handling requirements Strong written communication skills, including drafting reports and briefings Ability to apply judgment, analyse information and provide practical advice Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills Well-organised, with high attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities Culture and benefits People enjoy contracting with adaptbl because our business is owned and managed by lawyers and people who have first-hand experience working as contractors.
