About the role We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a broad range of practical skills to work at our Bexley Village. The Maintenance Officer will be responsible for providing all onsite maintenance activities, including repairs and maintenance of buildings, fixtures, fittings, equipment, and associated structures, as well as grounds/garden maintenance and painting. They will often work autonomously and will be required to prioritise work activities. Their focus is on achieving a high standard of quality whilst working safely and efficiently. The successful applicant will have: A positive attitude A current NSW driver's licence Class C Previous experience as a Maintenance Officer, preferably within an aged care environment Good knowledge of building and maintenance practices and standards, including corrective and preventative maintenance programs Good communication skills, with an understanding and empathy for aged care residents Strong commitment to work, health and safety Intermediate computer literacy Desirable: Relevant trade qualification Unit of competency CPCCOHS1001A (Work safely in the Construction Industry) – White Card Experience liaising with tradespersons and contractors Ability to speak Italian or other languages
