This position is jointly supported by the OPTIMAL CRE and the Kawasaki Disease Foundation and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to research aimed at improving outcomes for children and families affected by Kawasaki disease. You will lead and contribute to original research examining the impact of access to and timing of intravenous immunoglobulin, IVIg, on clinical and economic outcomes in Kawasaki disease. Using national longitudinal healthcare administrative datasets, you will undertake economic evaluations and epidemiological analyses to inform clinical practice, health policy and resource stewardship in the context of constrained immunoglobulin supply. This role provides the opportunity to generate evidence that directly informs national priorities in immunoglobulin management, while working closely with clinicians, health economists, policymakers and consumer representatives. About You We welcome expressions of interest from early career researchers, research fellows or clinicians with expertise or a strong interest in health economics, epidemiology, Kawasaki disease or health systems research. You will demonstrate: Experience undertaking data analysis in R, STATA or SAS Skills in economic evaluation, epidemiological analysis or health services research Analytical and manuscript preparation capability with early publication contributions Strong organisational and communication skills The ability to work independently and within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team Experience applying quantitative methods to inform clinical research, policy or health system decision-making will be highly regarded. About The OPTIMAL CRE And Transfusion Research Unit The Transfusion Research Unit is internationally recognised for improving blood transfusion support for patients with complex transfusion needs and blood disorders. It coordinates the NHMRC funded OPTIMAL CRE, which addresses evidence gaps in immunoglobulin use across blood cancers, myasthenia gravis and Kawasaki disease.
