Responsibilities Joining an established Mining team, you'll be supporting a diverse range of brownfield and sustaining capital projects across Australia. You’ll play a key role in delivering engineering solutions for our mining clients across multiple commodities, working within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment. This is a design-focused position, ideal for an engineer who thrives in developing engineering solutions from concept through detailed design. Lead and produce electrical engineering designs, calculations, and documentation for mining and heavy industrial projects Develop single line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, protection schemes, and electrical modelling Provide technical input across feasibility, concept, and detailed design phases Oversee and review work by junior and intermediate engineers Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and process engineering teams Ensure designs meet relevant Australian Standards, safety requirements, and client specifications Support project delivery including design reviews, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) Minimum 5 years’ experience, ideally within mining, resources, or heavy industrial sectors Strong background in electrical design for processing plants, materials handling, or mining infrastructure Solid understanding of Australian Standards, particularly AS/NZS 3000 and mining electrical requirements Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership skills CPEng or working toward chartership is highly regarded Why WSP?
