The Role We have an exciting opportunity to join our City Planning team as a Senior Strategic Planner. As part of the Strategic Planning team, you will provide a corporate approach to strategic planning which 'adds value' to the built and natural environments and assist in the development of planning policies, dissemination of information and evaluation of land use issues within Latrobe. Other duties will include: Assist in the development and management of specific Land Use Strategies and Planning Scheme Amendments to the Latrobe Planning Scheme, such as: Heritage Gap Study Churchill Town Centre Plan Moe Activity Centre Plan Assist in achieving compliance with, and where appropriate, influence, Latrobe City's statutory obligations, and strategic and business plan objectives. About You You will have a commitment to providing excellent customer service to both our internal departments and our external customers, consultants, and government agencies. We are seeking someone with strong analytical skills for report writing and information requests and demonstrated experience of Land Use strategies. Planning Scheme Amendments and how that relates to Council's statutory obligations, and strategic and business plan objectives. You will need: Qualifications (Degree or Diploma) in Town Planning suitable for corporate membership to the Planning Institute of Australia. Experience in urban and regional planning at the local government level is desirable. A current Driver’s Licence is desirable. Understanding of planning, including Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Planning Scheme Amendment Process. Experience in land use planning, preparation of Planning Scheme Amendments and strategies. Successful applicants will be required to apply for and satisfactorily obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
