Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) are seeking an experienced Urban and Infill Development Engineer to lead the practice of urban engineering matters across the organisation. As Lead Urban & Infill Development Engineer Within The Specialist Advisory Team, You Will Contribute To The Delivery Of Comprehensive Technical Advisory Services To Support Expedited Development Approval Processes. You Will Ensure Timely Provision Of Engineering Advice To Support The Assessment Of Urban And Infill Development Proposals, While Maintaining Quality Assurance Standards And Coordinating Utility Infrastructure Alignment To Facilitate Sustainable Development Outcomes. You Will Provide specialist technical advice to support new PDAs, Development Applications and Infrastructure Agreements, ensuring engineering solutions align with development objectives and regulatory standards. Provide a coordination role in the establishment of infrastructure strategies to support new PDAs. Establish and lead a community of practice for the Urban Engineering discipline within the Development Services division, to seek continuous improvement and development of engineering expertise within the team to support expedited approvals while maintaining infrastructure integrity and safety requirements. Actively contribute to building partnerships and managing ongoing relationships with a range of stakeholders including local government, water utilities providers and other authorities to facilitate sustainable and effective development and infrastructure outcomes. The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate experience in a leadership role in the development assessment function for large-scale development within established urban areas. Have a proven record of facilitating complex development projects with high compliance, governance, and stakeholder engagement standards. Possess strategic acumen and capability to deliver innovative solutions in a dynamic and complex policy context. Show advanced interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including negotiation and cross-sector partnerships. Display evidence of working within a project and service environment, including experience with people, process and systems design and implementation to support high quality delivery. Have knowledge of government practices and familiarity in working with those processes. Possess tertiary qualifications in civil engineering and preferably hold RPEQ.
