This position will provide expert advice, support and assistance to departmental staff and suppliers on procurement matters in accordance with all relevant procurement policies and procedures. The position will have a primary focus on supporting delivery of the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P) capital works program and will be responsible for the successful coordination of complex procurement activities and contracts to support capital projects and other asset management programs including fleet and maintenance. As The Senior Procurement Officer, You Will Develop, lead, influence and manage the procurement function through strategic analysis and procurement planning, management, strategy development and implementation and the provision of expert knowledge and advice to stakeholders. Initiate, monitor, review and report on project procurement plans, systems and processes and identify strategies for improvement and future sustainability to ensure an efficient and effective procurement function. Contribute to the preparation and lead the implementation of various project's procurement phase and manage, monitor and report on the projects' achievements of stated key performance indicators and procurement targets. Influence the capability and profile of procurement for the projects and contribute to the development of knowledge and expertise of purchasing staff in the delivery of effective procurement practices. Collaborate with other project team members and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of procurement and purchasing activities in line with project and organisational objectives.
