About the role:- We are seeking a Chef for full-time permanent position, essential to the ongoing operation and growth of Monty Cafe & Restaurant. The role is responsible for planning, organizing, and preparing food in accordance with commercial kitchen standards while maintaining compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements. The Chef ensures consistent food quality, efficient kitchen operations, and contributes to menu development and business expansion initiatives, including catering and seasonal menu innovation. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Plan and organize the preparation and cooking of food in a commercial kitchen environment • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards • Develop and plan menu, including seasonal updates and cost analysis • Monitor food preparation processes and quality to ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation and address guest feedback and complaints regarding food quality promptly and professionally • Estimate food and labor costs and assist in budget control • Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimize wastage • Ensure compliance with food safety standards • Supervise and train kitchen staff where required • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment • Coordinate food preparation for catering and high-volume service periods • Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure compliance with hygiene standards • Implement workplace health and safety procedures within kitchen operations Qualifications and Experience • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher qualification • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial café or restaurant environment (or at least 2 years full-time post-qualification experience) • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen • Experience in menu planning, cost control, and stock management • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance requirements • Ability to supervise junior kitchen staff and manage service operations • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills Salary - $75,000 - $85,000 plus super Only eligible and shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
