The Company An established organisation operating within the national security sector is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to support and enhance secure, cloud-native platforms delivering mission-critical outcomes. This is a senior, hands-on cloud role focused on Azure, Kubernetes and production reliability within highly regulated environments. The Role You will take operational ownership of Azure-hosted platforms running across AKS, virtual machines and secure desktop environments. Working closely with engineering teams, you will drive reliability, observability, security compliance and continuous improvement across critical systems. This role includes participation in a 1-in-4 on-call rotation. Key Responsibilities Operate and optimise Azure-hosted production environments across AKS and Windows VMs Lead troubleshooting of complex infrastructure and application issues Drive observability improvements using Prometheus, Grafana and Azure Monitor Partner with engineering teams to eliminate recurring incidents and improve platform resilience Contribute to incident response leadership and post-incident reviews Support compliance with PSPF, ISM and IRAP security frameworks Mentor engineers and promote strong operational and engineering practices About You 5 years’ experience in cloud engineering, DevOps or platform operations Strong hands-on experience with Azure and Kubernetes (AKS highly regarded) Proven experience supporting production-grade cloud platforms Experience implementing monitoring and observability best practices Comfortable operating in regulated or security-conscious environments Strong communication skills and ability to mentor others Desirable: Experience with C# or supporting engineering teams working in .NET Experience in defence, government or other regulated sectors Exposure to geospatial or data visualisation platforms Security Requirement: You must have a minimum of Baseline clearance and be eligible to obtain or hold an NV1 Security Clearance.
