A leading Australian services organisation requires an experienced Business Data Lead to take ownership of the functional data stream across a major HR, Payroll and Time & Attendance program. This is a business critical role sitting between operations and systems. You will not be a pure technologist, instead, you will bring deep functional understanding of how HR and Payroll actually work, and how data flows across systems to ensure accurate and compliant pay outcomes. Your daily responsibilities will include: Lead functional data mapping across HR, Time & Attendance and Payroll systems Define how employee schedules and workforce data feed into pay outcomes Interpret and document rules including awards, overtime, RDO flags and pay overlays Develop clear functional specifications to guide configuration and build Lead data cleansing, validation and rationalisation activities Identify opportunities for data auto-population and reduction of manual handling Ensure data integrity across specific employee cohorts Work closely with stakeholders to validate interpretation logic before go-live To succeed in this role you will have Strong hands-on experience across HR, Payroll and Time & Attendance environments Deep understanding of payroll interpretation rules and dependencies Proven ability to lead business data streams within transformation programs Experience mapping end-to-end data flows across integrated systems Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation capability Highly analytical with strong documentation skills Desirable to have exposure to HRIS or Payroll system implementations and technical literacy (not essential).
