We’re looking for an Executive Lead, Finance to drive financial sustainability, strong governance, and operational excellence across our organisation. WHAT YOU’LL DO – YOUR PURPOSE As our Executive Lead, Finance , you will play a vital role in ensuring Playgroup NSW is financially strong, well‑governed, and positioned for long‑term success. Reporting with t he CEO, you will oversee core financial operations, support strategic planning, ensure compliance, and contribute to o rganisation ‑ wide risk and data management. Key Responsibilities Financial Operations: Oversee daily AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations and transactions. Deliver accurate monthly/annual reporting, cashflow management, budgeting, forecasting and system optimisation . Strategy & Financial Management: Provide financial insights and modelling to the CEO, Leadership Team and Board. Lead long‑term financial sustainability, scenario planning and audit readiness. Risk & Compliance: Manage the Risk Register, Compliance Calendar and policy governance. Coordinate insurance, contract and legal workflows, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Data, Systems & Digital Support: Support digital platforms, data governance and cybersecurity. Assist with IT vendor management, CRM oversight and performance/data quality monitoring. Financial Partnering : Provide financial advice to program and operational teams, including modelling, budgeting and grant acquittals. Strengthen financial controls and organisational efficiency. People Leadership: Build a capable, values‑aligned team through coaching, development and strong cultural leadership. KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting , Business, Commerce or similar, plus CA/CPA qualification. Demonstrated experience leading finance operations, reporting, budgeting and compliance. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and not‑for‑profit sector requirements. Experience with Xero, Microsoft 365, financial modelling and grant/funding acquittals. Strong skills in risk management, controls, and compliance frameworks. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. A collaborative, proactive approach aligned with Playgroup NSW’s values. Experience leading teams and supporting organisational change A Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
