Strategic national leadership role 6-month contract / Sydney CBD Opportunity for permanent Our client has an opportunity which could lead to a permanent role for a Head of Facilities & Property, providing strategic leadership for the organisation’s national property, facilities and physical security portfolio. The role leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for facilities operations, asset management, physical security, vendor performance and national service delivery. Shaping long‑term property strategy for the business, you will provide high‑level risk, governance and strategic advice to senior executives. You will advise the Executive team on property risk, physical security, capital investment and accommodation planning, shaping decisions that impact organisational resilience, operational readiness and future workforce needs. The role is responsible for exercising executive oversight of national facilities management, physical security and workplace experience, ensuring environments are safe, contemporary and enable effective regulatory operations. You will also provide stewardship of the national property and facilities project pipeline, including major multiyear and multisite programs, ensuring investment decisions are forward-looking, risk informed and deliver organisational value. You will provide executive oversight of property and facilities budgets, shape long-term capital planning, financial forecasting and investment prioritisation, while ensuring assets remain fit for purpose and financially sustainable over the long term is required. The role will also lead vendor and contract management strategy, ensuring high performance, value for money and partnership based service delivery. Suitable candidates will have extensive experience (typically 10 years) leading large or complex property, facilities or corporate real estate portfolios, ideally within government. You will have expertise in property strategy, capital works governance, asset management and workplace transformation, with a strong understanding of government Procurement Rules, WHS legislation and public-sector governance frameworks. You will have proven ability to influence senior executives and lead strategic decision making and have success in leading multisite operational teams and managing high value vendor and contract arrangements. Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills and essential, as well as ability to operate effectively in complex, ambiguous environments, exercising sound judgement and enterprise thinking.
