Role: Principal Salesforce Engineer Daily Rate:$1100 - $1200 Super Contract Length: Initial contract until 12/03/27 Location: Parramatta/WFH Hybrid Join a major NSW Government digital transformation initiative delivering a multi-year modernisation strategy. This is a rare opportunity to lead the build of a new flagship Salesforce-based platform and transition away from legacy systems, shaping the future digital experience for customers across the state. About the Opportunity You will set the technical direction for one of two large-scale digital projects, acting as the lead Salesforce engineer across up to three delivery squads. This is a hands-on leadership role combining architecture, design, coding, quality assurance, and team oversight. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, engineers and executive stakeholders to deliver a secure, scalable and high-performing platform built on Salesforce. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture Define and maintain end-to-end solution architecture for a new Salesforce platform Design robust data models and reusable integration patterns across internal and external systems Embed accessibility, security, reliability and scalability into all design decisions Provide architectural guidance and ensure alignment with enterprise standards Salesforce Engineering & Delivery Lead hands-on development across Salesforce (Public Sector Solutions, Experience Cloud) Oversee Omnistudio implementations and DevOps processes (e.g. Azure, Copado) Guide workflow automation and AI-enabled capabilities Support integration activities (MuleSoft experience highly regarded) Drive estimation, planning, testing strategy and release management Quality, Risk & Governance Ensure architectural consistency and technical excellence via code reviews and standards enforcement Oversee vendor and cross-team technical dependencies Lead defect triage and remediation activities Maintain traceability of technical decisions and code changes Team & Stakeholder Leadership Lead and mentor up to three engineering squads Support recruitment, onboarding and performance uplift Act as primary technical liaison across business and executive stakeholders Clearly communicate architectural decisions and technical trade-offs Platform Transition Lead go-live planning, data migration and legacy decommissioning Establish long-term support and operational readiness models About You Deep Salesforce expertise, including Public Sector Solutions and Experience Cloud Strong experience with Omnistudio and Salesforce ecosystem technologies DevOps capability (Azure, Copado or similar) Experience delivering new platform builds and complex system cutovers Integration expertise (MuleSoft highly desirable) Workflow automation experience and exposure to AI implementation Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills A delivery mindset focused on speed, quality and outcomes Ability to operate within or quickly adapt to NSW Government standards If this sounds like YOU, then please APPLY today!
