Located in the heart of the Channel Country of south-west Queensland, Davenport Downs and its outstation Springvale, together form a 3.7 million acre aggregation capable of carrying up to 25,000 head of cattle. Davenport Downs is an integral part of the success of the Paraway’s Northern breeding operations, receiving the bulk of its cattle from Armraynald and Gregory Downs, which are grown out for markets on the East Coast. About the role Experienced Mechanic/Machinery Operator Will be required to work 3 weeks per month at Davenport Downs and 1 week per month at Tanbar Key Responsibilities Operation of CAT Graders (140H & 140M) maintaining station roads, drains and levees Operation of Mack truck carting livestock as well as low-loader trailers Operation of bobcat Operation of volvo loader The set up of a maintenance program including vehicles, trucks, earthmoving equipment, generators and small motors Coordination of station work schedules and communicating clearly to ensure operator awareness. Carry out repairs, services and overhauls as required Organising of materials and equipment Maintaining spare parts and inventory Maintaining an efficient and safe workshop in accordance with WHS legislation and policies.
