Your Role at St John of God Geelong Hospital We are seeking a motivated Grade 2 Casual Occupational Therapist to join our casual bank. You will work across acute wards (orthopaedics, surgical, general medicine), inpatient rehabilitation, and may support cardiac, oncology and Parkinson’s outpatient programs, with full orientation provided. Our OT team works Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, and casual shifts will depend on your availability to cover planned leave and ad‑hoc needs. You will join a supportive team of OTs with strong supervision and peer support. The Position Provision of an Occupational Therapy treatment at a senior level. Completion of comprehensive patient assessment (e.g. assessment of personal care, domestic and community ADLs, assessment of the home environment, cognitive and functional physical assessment as required). Provision of a comprehensive treatment intervention and appropriate progression treatment to match functional goals to manage complex patients. In conjunction with the Supervisor/Manager and other Occupational Therapy caregivers, develop processes for the evaluation of both inpatient and outpatient Occupational Therapy programs. Patients/clients plans and outcomes are regularly monitored through attendance at and participation in multi-disciplinary team meetings. Demonstrates strong, current clinical knowledge and skills and applies this to contribute to supporting individuals and teams in clinical practice. Leads and contributes to undergraduate student programs and training You will have tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and demonstrate senior clinical experience and leadership in a specialised area of clinical practice within a healthcare and disability care setting. To succeed, you will have 5 years’ experience (hospital preferred but not essential), strong clinical skills, and a collaborative, team‑focused approach. Experience working with elderly clients, neurological conditions, and My Aged Care, as well as a current Driver’s Licence, is also desirable.
