Join us as an Assistant Principal Ranger (Technical Support) and play a vital role in managing some of Queensland's most valued natural areas. Based in stunning Cairns, this permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and support a multidisciplinary team of up to ten staff in delivering critical projects that protect and enhance the region's protected estates. You'll work closely with the Principal Ranger and Regional Director to oversee the planning, delivery, and reporting of annual work programs, including Estates Management, the regional planning program and Values Based Management Framework, and visitor management initiatives. In this role, you'll develop and implement systems, procedures, and standards that align with Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service's (QPWS) strategic objectives. You'll also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective planning, estates and visitor management practices. Leveraging your strong leadership skills, you'll inspire and guide your team to achieve operational excellence while maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace. This position may require occasional travel, including overnight stays, to deliver on the region's priorities.
