This is a Senior Child Safety Support Officer role with Queensland Government based in Cairns, QLD, AU Queensland Government Role Seniority - senior More about the Senior Child Safety Support Officer role at Queensland Government In this role you will work within a multidisciplinary team and provide high quality, culturally appropriate, child protection services to children, families and carers serviced by the Kin Placement Team. You will also support colleagues and management in the delivery of statutory child protection services within a strengths-based, safety oriented framework for practice. As a Senior Child Safety Officer You Will Recruit, assess and provide advice, education and support to foster and kinship carers, including complying with legislative requirements, departmental policies and procedures. Effectively and positively engage with current and potential foster and kinship carers as required to support them in their roles as carers and their engagement with the department. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders, children and parents to support the establishment and strengthening of effective safety and support networks, including connection to extended family and community. Provide high quality, comprehensive casework support and advice to assist in informing decisions about the safety and protective needs of children where complex child protection concerns are present. Participate effectively as a team member in a multidisciplinary team to deliver well-planned family support services to vulnerable children and families. Actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning, training and professional development, to ensure practice knowledge and skills are contemporary and evidence based.
