Risk, Compliance and Audit Advisor Employment Type: Ongoing Classification / Grade / Band: Clerk Grade 7/8 Remuneration: $113,574 - $125,720; plus, Superannuation and Leave Loading Location: Sydney CBD, Flexible working options available Applications Close: Monday, 30 March 2026 at 9:59am Your day as a Risk, Compliance and Audit Advisor In this role, you will contribute to NSW Treasury’s enterprise risk and business continuity functions by supporting the implementation of risk and crisis management strategies, tools and processes across the organisation. Your day-to-day work will include analysing risk and compliance performance, preparing reports for senior leaders, and the Audit & Risk Committee. You will work closely with stakeholders across Treasury to provide timely, expert advice on risks, crisis management, controls, and system processes, ensuring statutory, public service and ethical obligations are met. You will also support the ongoing development of risk, compliance and assurance frameworks, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and help strengthen Treasury’s organisational risk and compliance culture. It reports regularly to the Audit & Risk Committee, the Treasury Secretary and the Executive Leadership Team, and plays a key role in supporting sound governance, assurance and decision‑making. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: Experience in either risk management, crisis management, compliance or audit within complex organisations Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to analyse data from multiple sources and translate insights into practical recommendations Knowledge of risk and compliance standards and better practice guidelines Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and effectively The confidence to provide frank, evidence based advice and respond professionally in time sensitive situations Strong written and reporting skills, with experience preparing senior level reports A proactive, collaborative mindset and commitment to continuous improvement Relevant tertiary qualifications are required.
