The Role We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our South Australia workshop. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will play a critical role in the assembly, construction, and maintenance of mechanical systems and marine equipment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and values teamwork, safety, and quality. Key Responsibilities Conduct and support general fitting and turning tasks. Assemble and fit marine parts and equipment. Construct and assemble mechanical systems. Align and shim main equipment and shaft lines. Inspect work to ensure safety and quality standards are met. Operate workshop tools and equipment, including milling machines and lathes. Construct structural components from technical drawings and blueprints. Maintain a clean and productive work environment, minimising waste. Adhere to all health and safety policies, including correct use of PPE. Perform general duties within your scope of competence. Qualifications & Experience Certificate III in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent trade qualification. Shipbuilding experience highly desirable. Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
