Help aHead Caringbah is an integrated, person centred hub connecting mental health, alcohol and other drugs, physical health and psychosocial supports. Our multidisciplinary team brings clinical, peer, cultural and community expertise together to provide coordinated support that reflects people’s lives, relationships and wellbeing. The Aboriginal Wellbeing Worker is a key member of the Help aHead Caringbah team, supporting people experiencing mental health distress through culturally safe, person-led and strengths-based care that builds trust, connection and continuity. This role may include extended hours as the service operates Monday - Friday, with some extended hours on these days (up to 7pm - two days per week). Support shared wellbeing planning grounded in people’s goals, culture and community. Work as part of the multidisciplinary Help aHead team to provide coordinated care. Provide Aboriginal cultural knowledge, guidance and advocacy to consumers and the Help aHead team. Skills & Experience Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be an active member within the Aboriginal communities of the Central Eastern Sydney region and surrounding area Qualifications in mental health, health or community/social services discipline (minimum Certificate IV) Demonstrated commitment to working from a recovery orientation, in line with the National Framework for Recovery Oriented Mental Health Services Demonstrated capacity to engage with and mentor people, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to work towards their recovery goals in a structured and planned way Experience in developing and maintaining successful partnerships with Aboriginal organisations and communities Interested?
