You will play an important role in helping the community better understand Council’s services and initiatives while empowering residents to be part of creating a more sustainable, safe and vibrant future for our region. As the Education Coordinator, you will assist in planning and delivering engaging community education programs that build awareness of Council’s work and support behaviour change that benefits the community. You will lead a team and work closely with staff across the organisation to deliver programs that connect the community with Council services and priorities. Education programs span a broad range of Council areas including waste and recycling, environmental initiatives, water conservation, road safety and key Council projects and initiatives. The role provides a great opportunity to work directly with the community – from schools and community groups through to events and workshops – while collaborating internally to support the delivery of Council’s Operational Plan. This is a dynamic and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will have the opportunity to get out into the community, build strong relationships and help shape programs that make a real difference across our region. To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have Proven experience planning and delivering community education programs that support behavioural change Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or extensive experience developing education programs with communities Experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary teams and programs Demonstrated ability to manage, evaluate and report on multiple programs and initiatives Strong communication and analytical skills, including report writing and presentations Proven ability to build relationships and work with a wide range of stakeholders across the community and organisation The ability to work flexible hours to support community engagement activities and project delivery Remuneration And Benefits Employment Type: Full time, Temporary Contract (until September 2027) 35 hours per week Salary: Starting in the range of $97,130 to $108,719 depending on skills and experience PLUS 12% superannuation Opportunity for performance based increases available after 12 months.
