We endeavour to maintain a home-like appearance and atmosphere. We work closely with experts in the field such as Geriatricians and Clinical Nurse Specialists to ensure a high level of care is provided. Our residents are supported by multidisciplinary Medical, Nursing and Allied Health staff, as well as a broad Corporate and Hotel services team. Garrawarra Centre is located just south of Waterfall on the outskirts of the Royal National Park, near the Garrawarra State Conservation Area, which provides beautiful natural surroundings for residents, families/carers and staff to enjoy. Due to the location, the facility is not accessible by public transport, however free on-site parking is available. Where you'll be working Garrawarra Centre is a 104 bed Dementia Specific Residential Aged Care Facility located in the tranquil setting of Garrawarra State Conservation Area, Waterfall. The Centre is one of the few purpose-built, dementia specific facilities in New South Wales. The Role This is a new role - Garrawarra Centre is seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Registered Nurse to play a pivotal role in supporting our residents’ complex clinical needs and guiding staff through periods of clinical escalation. This position offers the opportunity to lead with confidence, provide expert clinical oversight, and foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence in care. PT role will provide a flexible option for the candidate to excel the role and benefits the facility. Selection Criteria Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others. Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with residents/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations. Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems. Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.
