The Opportunity This is more than a planning role - it’s your chance to directly impact sales, margin and stock performance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Reporting to the Head of Planning, you’ll take ownership of financial merchandise plans and forecasting, ensuring the right stock is in the right place at the right time across both stores and eCommerce. Working cross-functionally with Buying, Supply Chain, Retail and Marketing, you’ll turn data into insights and insights into action driving smarter decisions and stronger commercial outcomes. What You’ll Be Doing Build and manage seasonal and annual merchandise financial plans (sales, margin, stock and intake) Deliver accurate forecasting, identifying risks and opportunities early Own Open-to-Buy (OTB) management to ensure optimal stock investment Monitor key metrics including sell-through, stock turn, weeks of cover and markdown exposure Provide clear, insight-led weekly and monthly trade reporting to senior stakeholders Partner with cross-functional teams to influence trading decisions and outcomes Lead post-season reviews and continuously improve planning accuracy and performance What You Bring Proven experience in merchandise planning within a retail environment (multi-brand or large-format highly regarded) Strong commercial mindset with a deep understanding of retail KPIs Advanced Excel skills and experience with planning systems Sharp analytical thinking and attention to detail Confidence working with stakeholders and influencing outcomes Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment Why Join Sports Direct?
