In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, Ventia is seeking an experienced Property & Asset Services (PAS) Base Operations Manager to lead the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of maintenance, land management, aerodrome operations, and training area services at RAAF Pearce in Bullsbrook, WA. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture while delivering high-quality support services across the base. An exciting opportunity for a strong leader to take on a pivotal senior management position, overseeing the team and driving contract performance. About the Role The PAS Base Operations Manager is responsible for the operational performance, compliance, financial sustainability and customer satisfaction of all Property & Asset Services. You will oversee maintenance delivery, land management, contractor performance, emergency management, and estate operations while driving safety, innovation and continuous improvement. Service lines include: Maintenance, Land Management, Estate Upkeep, Aerodrome Operations, Training Areas & Ranges. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Lead and develop a large, multi-trade technical workforce responsible for maintenance delivery across multiple sites. Serve as the primary operational interface for Defence stakeholders, ensuring timely, professional and accurate responses to all queries, complaints and requests for information. Champion a generative safety culture and oversee incident management Ensure compliance with WHS, Defence standards and contractual requirements Deliver operational KPIs, productivity targets and monthly reporting Manage emergency response, business continuity and recovery planning Maintain strong customer relationships within defence and contractors. and lead critical incident communications Lead contractor performance, audits and governance processes Support business planning, transformation and commercial compliance About You 7 years’ experience in a similar operational leadership role Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Trades or related field (desirable) Proven success leading complex, multisite technical operations Strong WHS, safety culture and incident management experience Financial acumen including P&L and contract compliance Experience with emergency management and business continuity Strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to work closely with Defence Demonstrated ability to lead dispersed teams and drive high performance Customer centric mindset with strong governance and compliance capabilities Security Requirements To be eligible for this role, you must: Be eligible to obtain a minimum NV1 Defence Security Clearance Be an Australian Citizen Be able to maintain Defence Protected Network access Pass an Australian Federal Police Check Apply now and help deliver the future of Defence estate and infrastructure services.
