The Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) provides unique opportunities to work on diverse and challenging multi-scale geoscientific projects across a wide variety of geological terranes. The team has a strong focus on supporting mineral and energy exploration, by undertaking a range of projects to build knowledge of the geology and resource potential of the Northern Territory. As the Manager, Basin Geoscience (SP1) you will contribute your technical expertise plus provide leadership and management to a diverse team delivering a range of multidisciplinary geoscience projects to improve understanding and effectively deliver and communicate information on the regional geological framework of the onshore basins of the Northern Territory. You will be responsible for ensuring team members adhere to data governance and organisational reporting standards relating to the acquisition, processing and dissemination of geoscientific data and information. This role will make good use of your strong leadership skills and technical expertise, advanced communication and influencing skills as you drive team goals, strategies and work plans, and support the Director Regional Geoscience in strategic planning, business development to meet operational requirements. In addition to the above, you will be required to maintain currency of knowledge and awareness of modern and emerging geoscientific concepts and technologies, as well as building strong working relationships and collaborative networks with your peers and external stakeholders. Located in either Alice Springs or Darwin you will form part of a passionate and talented Northern Territory Geological Survey team and be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package inclusive of; 12% superannuation, 6 weeks recreational and 3 weeks personal leave, 17.5% annual leave loading and the opportunity to work on fundamental geoscientific studies that will assist with identifying and securing the economic future for the Northern Territory.
