About the role: We are therefore seeking highly-skilled 2 x Family Support Workers to work with families to improve their living and coping skills. The right candidate for this full-time role must be able to perform the following duties and meet the following requirements: Assessing the needs of families and children and planning, developing and implementing family support, parenting education and wellbeing programs. Meeting with parents, caregivers and family members to identify the nature and extent of personal, social, emotional or financial difficulties affecting family functioning. Monitoring family progress and maintaining case notes, records and reports to ensure effective support outcomes. Providing guidance, information and practical assistance to families on parenting skills, child development, health, education, housing and financial wellbeing. Referring families and individuals to appropriate community organisations, government agencies and specialist support services where additional assistance is required. Supporting families to build safe, stable and nurturing home environments for children and other vulnerable family members. Assisting children and young people to address social, emotional and behavioral challenges through guidance and support programs. Identifying community needs and available resources related to family wellbeing, housing, employment, education and social services. Preparing reports, case documentation and program information for internal management and external agencies when required.
