Super Sweet Café – Braddon, ACT 2612 Super Sweet Café is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Full-Time Pastry Cook to join our busy and friendly kitchen team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Pastry Cook who will be responsible for creating pastries and delivering a range of delicious baked goods and desserts to delight our customers. About the Role As a Full-Time Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while maintaining excellent food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations and timely service. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and craft a wide range of high-quality pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts using fresh, seasonal ingredients. • Develop, refine, and execute recipes to ensure consistency in taste, texture, quality, and presentation across all baked products. • Work closely with the Head Chef to design innovative, visually appealing dessert menus and plated presentations. • Contribute to new product development and assist in the execution of new culinary projects and seasonal offerings. • Maintain the highest standards of food quality, portion control, and presentation always. • Oversee daily pastry kitchen operations, including preparation, workflow coordination, and service efficiency. • Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and assist with food cost control and waste minimisation. • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements. • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient pastry kitchen environment. • Collaborate effectively with the broader culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service delivery. • Stay up to date with industry trends and continuously introduce creative improvements to enhance the dessert program. Requirement Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pastry Chef in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment Australian Work Rights Minimum Certificate III of IV in Patisserie Strong technical skills in baking and pastry-making, with a keen eye for detail and presentation Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with the culinary team Passion for creating delicious and visually appealing desserts Familiarity with food safety and quality control procedures Adaptability to follow or develop recipes, and introduce new baked goods to the menu Position Details Job Type: Full-time Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per year Setting: Café Shift: 8-hour day shifts Work Location: In person (Braddon, ACT) How to Apply If you are enthusiastic about cooking and would like to be part of a supportive café team, we encourage you to apply with your resume.
