About the role These positions are 12-month fixed-term, ending 30 June 2027, with potential for extension. Full-time or part-time (3 days per week) options are available. Help aHead Caringbah is an integrated, person-centred hub connecting mental health, alcohol and other drugs, physical health and psychosocial supports. Our multidisciplinary team brings clinical, peer, cultural and community expertise together to provide coordinated support that reflects people’s lives, relationships and wellbeing. The Senior Peer Worker is an experienced lived-experience practitioner within Help aHead Hub providing peer support grounded in Intentional Peer Support principles such as mutuality, shared learning, connection and hope. Working within the multidisciplinary team, the Senior Peer Worker brings lived experience expertise into shared wellbeing planning, provides individual peer support, and co facilitates group based supports where appropriate. The role also strengthens peer informed practice across the Hub through everyday guidance and reflective learning. This role may include extended hours as the service operates Monday - Friday, with some extended hours on these days (up to 7pm - two days per week). Supervise and mentor Peer Workers completing Peer Work Placements. Skills & Experience Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Peer Worker role Direct lived experience of life changing mental health challenges and/or mental health service use as well as periods of healing and personal recovery Commitment to safely and purposely share lived experience to engender hope and support others on their personal recovery journey Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, and lead and guide staff through influence Ability to utilise interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective and mutual relationships with consumers Thorough understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, ethical behaviour, policies, and procedures Interested?
