We are currently hiring a full-time chef to join our busy but welcoming kitchen. The position details are as follows: 01. Position and working hours Full time Chef At least 38 hours/week 02. Requirement Certificate III, IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification or at least 3 years of proven commercial kitchen experience Proven ability within sections of a kitchen, ability to multi-task and work in a high turnover environment Good management qualities Ability to follow standards, procedures and company’s recipes Advanced communication skills Impeccable presentation, hygiene and grooming standards Ensure compliance with all OHS legislation (act and regulation) 03. Duties and Requirements Lead and coach junior kitchen staff and give clear instruction to them Plan and evaluate menu and estimate food cost by assisting the Head Chef Report to the Head Chef Be responsible for fulfilling all the obligations regarding safety and the occupational health and safety requirements Order and maintain all the inventories required for food production Complete duties ensuring the quality of menu items with regard to raw materials, cooking process, portion control and presentation Handle, store, and rotate all food items ensuring quality and maintain an efficient store Examine food to ensure quality, prepare food for different periods Defrost, store, prepare correctly as per food item in accordance with instructions and adhere to safe food handling practice Prepare, cook, season the dishes by applying a range of methods and techniques 04. Salary We offer at least $76,600 annual base salary but it is negotiable depending on your qualification and experience. Also we will review based on the current market salary.
