Little World Academy, based in Nth Werribee, VIC, is an early childhood education and care provider offering long day care and funded kindergarten programs for children from infancy to preschool age. The service provides play-based learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and Victorian regulatory requirements. Currently, we have a full-time vacant position for an experienced and skilled Early Childhood (Pre-Primary school) teacher to join their friendly team. About Role: This role will involve planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), as well as maintaining accurate documentation of children’s learning and development. It also includes ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining effective communication with families and management. Main Responsibilities: 1. Design, implement, and evaluate a holistic curriculum in line with the National Quality Framework where each child’s current knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities, and interests are the foundation of a play-based learning environment. 2. Promote and support inclusive practice to ensure that the service can support families from a range of cultures, backgrounds, experiences, and situations. 3. Develop and maintain effective and respectful relationships with children, families, early childhood professionals, and regulatory departments, and maintain privacy and confidentiality. 4. Undertake mandatory reporting to adhere to child protection guidelines and responsibilities. 5. Record observations of individual children and groups, assess learning, and use for program planning. 6. Operate within the requirements of the organisation’s policies and procedures, as well as funding and regulatory requirements. 7. Provide a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment and ensure that children are supervised at all times. 8. Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan for the organisation. 9. Work in accordance with the standards outlined in the Early Childhood Australia (ECA) Code of Ethics, the Victorian Institute (VIT) Code of Conduct, Child Safe Standards. 10. Embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in all aspects of the curriculum. 11. Plan and implement a comprehensive transition to school/school-readiness program for kindergarten children. SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Requirements: Current Working with Children Check (WCC). Current child protection training and knowledge. Be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and continue to renew/maintain the registration during the course of employment. Current child protection training and knowledge. Must be able to fill the position of Nominated Supervisor or be nominated as a person in a leadership position or with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the service, in accordance with the regulations, if required by the approved provider. Current Victorian driver’s license. Qualifications : Must hold a qualification of Certificate III/IV or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care recognised by ACECQA. Hold a current ACECQA compliant First Aid Certificate, including Resuscitation, Asthma Management, and Anaphylaxis. Experience : Previous experience of 2-3 years working in the early childhood sector (desirable). Skills : Thorough understanding of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) and/or Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and be able to apply these in their teaching practice. Sound knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011. Thorough understanding of the National Quality Standards (NQS). Demonstrated understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture. Strong awareness of the Kindergarten Funding Guide. Knowledge and understanding of mandatory reporting requirements. Sound understanding of the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS), and Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM). Sound understanding and knowledge of early childhood development and education. Ability to develop, document, and implement a high-quality, developmentally appropriate education program for kindergarten children, in consultation with relevant stakeholders. Knowledge of work health and safety legislation, employee responsibilities, safety practices, and safety issues for children and staff. The ability to plan, work, and manage time effectively with minimal supervision. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively with the approved provider, children, parents, other staff, and professionals. Ability to work in a cooperative, flexible, and professional manner with children, parents, staff, and approved provider. Well-developed leadership and self-motivation skills.
