The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Technical Specialist – New Employer Services to join our team of quality managers to provide expert technical leadership across our New Employer (Different Employer) service stream. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high quality, compliant and outcome focused delivery of vocational services for workers unable to return to their pre injury employer.Working closely with Operations managers, other Quality managers and frontline consultants, you will be the go to subject matter expert for complex cases, technical decision making, service recommendations and continuous improvement across New / Different Employer services. This role is ideally suited to a technical specialist who enjoys strategic thinking and complex problem solving, and who wants to influence outcomes, quality and service design without end to end people management responsibilities. You will operate as a trusted subject matter expert and advisor, supporting consultants and leaders through technical guidance, escalation support and continuous improvement, rather than through direct line management. Key responsibilities include: Complete strategic file reviews to provide technical oversight and expert advice on complex New Employer Services cases, including vocational assessments, labour market analyses and job seeking strategies Support consultants with technical problem solving, scheme interpretation and appropriate service recommendations across jurisdictions Review and quality check New Employer Services reports and case strategies, ensuring alignment with legislative, insurer and internal service standards Act as an escalation point for high risk, complex or stalled files, providing clear guidance to achieve forward momentum and sustainable RTW outcomes Contribute to the development, refinement and implementation of DE / NES processes, templates, tools and service models Identify trends, capability gaps and improvement opportunities across New Employer Services and provide actionable insights to leadership Support learning and development initiatives through mentoring, coaching and technical training for consultants Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Customer Management and Learning & Development to ensure consistent national practice About youYou are a highly experienced vocational or rehabilitation professional who thrives in technical, advisory and improvement focused roles. You bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement and the confidence to guide others through complex vocational and RTW decision making. You will bring: Extensive experience delivering and managing New Employer / Different Employer Services within workplace rehabilitation, workers compensation, life insurance or related schemes Advanced technical expertise in vocational assessment, labour market analysis, transferable skills analysis and job seeking services Strong understanding of RTW frameworks, entitlement periods and jurisdictional considerations across Australia Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to review, refine and uplift technical report quality Proven ability to coach, mentor and influence consultants High attention to detail, strong professional judgement and a continuous improvement mindset Extensive experience working NSW workers compensation scheme (essential); VIC, QLD workers compensation schemes and TAC (desirable) Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Rehabilitation Counselling or Psychology Current professional registration/membership (e.g. ASORC, AHPRA) Why join us?
