In this role, you will be responsible for conducting tender inspections, validating scopes of works and repair costs, and ensuring builder compliance with technical, service, and commercial standards. You will work closely with insurers, claims staff, builders, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes across a diverse portfolio of domestic and commercial claims. The role offers a strong mix of site-based inspections and office/hybrid work, with exposure to a wide range of insurance-related building repairs including storm damage, fire, impact damage, escape of liquid, malicious damage, and liability claims. About You You will be a technically capable building professional who enjoys autonomy, stakeholder engagement, and working across multiple projects concurrently. You can demonstrate: Minimum 3 years’ experience in building-related roles Strong background in domestic and commercial building scoping Proven ability to scope and estimate repair costs accurately Sound technical knowledge of building defects and damage assessment Excellent written communication and structured report-writing skills Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities High attention to detail with a quality-driven mindset Confident communication skills with clients, builders, and internal teams Key Requirements Proven ability to scope works and estimate repair costs accurately Strong technical building knowledge with the ability to identify defects and damage Experience reviewing and validating builder tenders Ability to produce clear, structured and accurate technical reports IT competent and comfortable working across digital systems Professional presentation and conduct on site and with stakeholders Key Responsibilities Conduct site inspections and report on progress, quality and variations Facilitate and lead tender inspections with panel builders Assess and validate builder tenders against technical and commercial criteria Identify exclusions, deficiencies and non-conforming tender items Prepare detailed scopes of work and cost estimates Manage customer enquiries and concerns during the lifecycle of a claim Produce high-quality written reports suitable for technical and stakeholder review Complete validation audits in line with established frameworks Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and policy liability requirements Crawford is committed to being an inclusive workplace that employs and retains the best and most diverse talent.
