Porta is investing heavily in advanced manufacturing technology at our Mount Gambier site, and we’re seeking experienced Maintenance Fitters who thrive in fast-paced industrial environments. This is not light workshop work. This is large-scale production plant, breakdown response, mechanical problem solving and reliability improvement. The Role As part of our industrial maintenance team in Mount Gambier, you will be responsible for: • Preventative and predictive maintenance • Fault finding on conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes and drive systems • Installation and upgrade project work • Alignments, changeovers and plant optimisation • Mechanical breakdown response across production plant • Supporting production to maximise uptime and reliability • Contributing to continuous improvement and safety initiatives We are looking for fitters who can diagnose efficiently, work safely under pressure and take ownership of plant performance. About You • Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical/Fabrication or equivalent) • Proven industrial maintenance experience • Strong mechanical fault-finding capability • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Experience in high-speed production or processing environments highly regarded • Strong safety mindset and commitment to quality workmanship Pre-Employment Requirement As part of our selection process, applicants must be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment, including functional capacity, audiometric testing, and drug and alcohol screening.
