About the Program: This 2-year program combines structured learning with hands-on experience, providing the ideal balance of knowledge and practical application. Through our partnership with theAustralian Computer Society (ACS), you’ll gain cyber security training while applying your knowledge in real-world situations. You will spend two days aweek in a structured learning program, and three days each week working alongside experienced professionals in various cyber security teams at SA Power Networks. You’ll contribute to a wide range of activities in the cyber security field, including: Cyber security advisory (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) SECOPS (Security Operations) Digital Identity You’ll gain experience with industry-leading security technologies and practices, including firewalls, SIEM tools, vulnerability assessment, and more. The process is structured into three parts, with progression to each stage based on your success in the previous one. Part 1 - Initial Submission: Submit a cover letter and resume that address the following: Tell us about yourself and why you think you’re a great fit for this program. Highlight any existing skills or experiences that could be transferable to cyber security. Describe why you want to join SA Power Networks. Successful applicants from this stage will progress to Part 2. Part 2 - Video Interview & Report: You will be required to: Complete a short video interview where you’ll provide more details about your interests, motivations, and fit for the program. Submit a one-page report analysing a potential threat actor that could target SA Power Networks. This task allows us to assess your understanding of the cyber security landscape and your ability to research and present findings. Successful applicants from this stage will be invited to Part 3. Part 3 - Team Interaction and Exercises: Spend a few hours onsite with our team, participating in team-based exercises designed to evaluate your critical thinking, collaboration, and ability to work in a team environment. This stage provides an opportunity for you to experience our team culture and showcase your problem-solving skills.
