You will work in a team aligned to your studies while you complete a Certificate IV qualification over an 18-month period. Throughout the program, you will apply your new skills in a dynamic work environment and receive guidance from mentors, coaches, supervisors, and peers who are invested in your success. ASD will pay for your studies and you will receive paid study leave to complete your certificate. As part of the program, Apprentices can pursue one of 2 streams: Technologist Stream: Cert IV in ICT (Networking or Programming and Web Applications) Project Stream: Cert IV in Project Management Successful candidates commence their apprenticeship on a salary of $65,286 (including 4% Service Allowance), plus 15.4% superannuation. Upon completion of the program, Apprentices advance to the ASD3 level, opening the door to a rewarding career in national security. The majority of positions for the ASD 2027 Apprentice Program will be located in Canberra. Candidates are able to preference locations in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Canberra. In line with the Australian Public Service Commissioner's Direction 2022, upon completion of the recruitment activity, the merit pool will be available to locations across Australia. The key duties of the position include ASD is seeking applications from candidates who will have completed their Year 12 Certificate by December 2026 and are looking to launch their career, or are looking for an entry-level career change.
