We are currently seeking experienced Kitchen Hands to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Gwelup Aged Care Home. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Gwelup is home to 112 beds across two floors, including a dementia specific wing, and has been designed and built to maximise our residents’ enjoyment and wellbeing. To be successful in this role, you will have experience or an interest in food preparation and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture. These positions are being offered on a permanent part-time basis working approximately 20-25 hours per week . Successful applicants will be available to work a range of morning and afternoon shifts. You may also have the opportunity to be trained in and work across the roles of Domestic Assistant / Cleaner and Laundry Assistant. About You Possess a passion for or previous experience working as a Kitchen Hand, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents Reliable with a strong work ethic Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply for one) The Role Ensuring responsible work practices of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards Ensuring required ingredients are available daily Assisting in the preparation and serving of meals Maintaining all utensils, equipment, work benches and general surrounds in a clean and safe condition Collecting and washing pots, pans, crockery and cutlery Working with Bethanie Many of us work because we want to make a difference.
