The Opportunity Lead a high performing finance team and help shape the department’s budgeting future in this impactful leadership role. You’ll drive strategic budget advice, champion smarter financial practices, and guide major whole of agency budget processes. As the central link for key budget cycles, you’ll influence forward planning and help deliver outcomes that make a real difference for South Australia. About you You are a strategic, people focused leader who excels at stakeholder engagement and managing complex matters. You drive high performance, continuous improvement, and innovative, evidence based financial practices. Analytical and forward looking, you set priorities, lead change, and understand fiscal trends and government financial contexts. With strong budget expertise, you provide trusted executive advice and shape strategies that support departmental outcomes and savings. Educational Qualifications /Licences An appropriate degree in accounting, finance or economics is highly regarded. Full membership/accreditation with professional accounting body (e.g. CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand) is highly regarded. Special Conditions A National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years. May be required to perform duties in other locations/divisions/units depending on DIT requirements Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
