Project & Commercial Support Officer (Asset Construction) $53.06 to $61.67/hour super Bankstown location with WFH flexibility provided Temp contract opportunity until March 2027 with possible extension About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project & Commercial Support Officer to join a local council in Bankstown. This role provides essential administrative and financial support across various asset construction projects, helping to ensure that documentation, variations, and reporting are accurate and well-organised. You will assist Project Managers by preparing information and cost documentation for review by senior team members. This is a critical role in ensuring the financial success of the Council’s projects and services. Key Responsibilities include: Invoicing: Manage the invoicing process for Council projects and services to ensure accuracy and timely issuance. Requisition: Raise purchase requisitions for goods and services while adhering to company policies and procedures. Financial Variations: Liaise with Project Managers and Officers to document variations in project scope, timeline, and budget. Memos & Approvals: Prepare memos to document variations and ensure they receive proper approval. Budget Review: Regularly review project budgets to identify and address any variances. Cost Strategy: Work with project teams to develop strategies that manage costs and ensure budgets are met. Financial Reporting: Prepare regular reports to provide visibility into the financial performance of projects. Data Analysis: Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders. Compliance: Understand and apply the requirements of the Security of Payments Act . Project Handover: Oversee the handover of projects at practical completion, ensuring all financial and documentation requirements are met. What will make you successful: You will be a highly motivated individual with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously. You should be comfortable working independently as well as part of a collaborative team. You will hold the following: Tertiary qualification or current studies in Business, Commerce, Construction, or Administration. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Confidence in communication and comfort working with project teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook. The ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and ask questions when unsure. Experience with or ability to learn SAP systems. What’s in it for you?
